Early voting turns out to be popular

Nearly 732,000 people have cast ballots in Harris County since early voting started a week ago today. 

• That's 27.2% of the county's 2.7 million registered voters.

Why it matters: Early voting continues today through Nov. 1 for a slew of elections, from the Houston ISD bond to U.S. president. 

Flashback: Just over 721,000 ballots had been cast in Harris County through the first seven days of early voting in the 2020 presidential election.

What's next: Election Day is Nov. 5.
