This week's NFL matchup between the Texans and Buffalo Bills in Houston centers around a reunion between Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs and his old team.
Catch up quick: Diggs, a veteran All-Pro receiver whose playtime and productivity dropped by the end of the 2023-24 season with the Bills, was traded to the Texans in April.
- He's recorded 25 catches for 233 yards including two touchdowns this year with the Texans, tied with Nico Collins for most on the team.
Between the lines: Diggs plans to "block out the noise" surrounding his somewhat bitter departure from Buffalo going into Sunday's game against the Bills, led by Diggs' longtime quarterback, Josh Allen.
- "A lot of other people are going to feel a way or have a lot to say about X, Y, Z, and I don't mind," Diggs said Wednesday. "I'm not mad at it."
What they're saying: Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud said Diggs has been "nothing but just amazing to this team and to his teammates" since arriving in Houston.
- "He's helped me out a ton," Stroud said Wednesday. "As you can see, we're clicking more and more every game."
- "I'm very happy for him and I'm glad that he's finally having fun playing the game and doing what he loves to do, because he loves football a lot."
Flashback: Houston (3-1) settled into their own during Week 4's bounce-back win over the Jacksonville Jaguars after losing in Week 3 to the Minnesota Vikings.
- The Bills (3-1) are fresh off a Week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
How to watch: Kickoff is at noon Sunday on CBS.
