Juneteenth is a big holiday for us in Houston, as it commemorates the emancipation of the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston. So here are some events around Houston to celebrate Black freedom:
🗣️ Tune in toa presentation by the Galveston Historical Foundation and hear undertold stories of the people and places in Galveston.

🩺 Get your health checked at the Juneteenth Community Health Fair at Emancipation Park tomorrow. There will be health screenings, food and nutrition information, and more.
10am-3pm. Free.
🍔 Kick back at the newly opened Houston Freedmen's Town on Wednesday. There will be food, art, performances and more.
4-8pm. Free.
🌳 Take your family to Emancipation Park for a family fun day on Wednesday. There will be activities, music, food trucks and more.

🏖️ Head to Sunny Beach in Galveston for the Juneteenth Big Black Beach Day on Wednesday.
