👋 Jay here! Hot dog season — um, I mean baseball season — is almost upon us.

  • As the Astros gear up for a relentless campaign, we now have our first look at the demand for dogs at the ballpark.

Driving the news: The Astros released a bunch of new information on the upcoming season yesterday, including new restaurant concepts and food items.

  • They also gave projections for how many concessions will be sold during the first four games against the New York Yankees.

By the numbers: The Astros said they plan to sell some 36,400 hot dogs in the first four games.

  • They're also planning to sell 21,000 orders of nachos, 17,500 soft pretzels, 35,000 bags of peanuts, and 35,000 buckets of popcorn in the same period.

💭 Jay's thought bubble: If the fates allow, I'll see myself at Minute Maid Park during the opening series against the formidable Yankees.

  • Rest assured I will make a dent in the consumption of 36,400 hot dogs.
