We just can'tget enough of Thai food, so we headed to Rim Tanon.
Details:Rim Tanon is a cozy restaurant in Upper Kirby that serves Thai street food.
Driving the news: Rim Tanon is one of the participating restaurants in Eat Drink HTX, where restaurants will have a set low-price menu from Feb. 15 to 29 and a portion of the meal price will go to the Houston Food Bank and DePelchin Children's Center.
Eat Drink HTX, the sister event to Houston Restaurant Weeks, will have $15 lunches and $25 dinners.
Quick review: The dishes were bursting with flavor, offered generous portions and were creatively presented.
The highlight of the meal was the pumpkin red curry ($15). It's comforting and feels like a warm hug, even if you're not a pumpkin lover.
If you've never had som tum, try the Thai-style papaya salad ($12). It's a treat for your taste buds, but take the spice level seriously. The Thai-style shaved ice ($8) is a helpful remedy if you've overestimated your spice tolerance.
