Houston's historic Market Square Park is now home to a decades-old live oak tree.
Catch up quick: A towering 40-year-old oak tree that had been ailing for years finally bit the dust in 2023, leaving a literal and metaphorical hole in the park.
Driving the news: The Houston Downtown Management District in December replaced the tree with a live oak estimated to be 22 to 26 years old.
The tree was bred in Brookshire and transported 45 miles on an oversized trailer.
