Asia Society Texas has opened its first public art installation.
Driving the news: "Heat Silhouette," a collaboration between Cuban American artist Rafael Domenech and Vietnamese American artist Tomas Vu, is inspired by popular culture and radical magazines of the 1960s and '70s.
Instead of flipping through a magazine, viewers can walk around the "pages" and experience the graphics and texts seen in the experimental magazines.
Between the lines: The installation — titled after Houston's intense heat — is made of wood, aluminum framing, and laser-cut construction mesh, all materials used to build the city.
If you go: Free. Open until June 2.
1370 Southmore Blvd., near the intersection of Caroline and Oakdale streets.
