Flashback: Readers stuffed our inbox a few months ago with their favorite bagel shops and we set out to try a few of them.
Dig in: First stop, the Bagel Spot, in Auburn Hills.
- It was busy when I visited around 8am on a weekday, but there was plenty of staff to keep orders moving.
🍳 What I ordered: The "Italian Scallion" on a poppyseed bagel: Two scrambled eggs, fried beef salami, chopped scallions and provolone ($9.99).
The verdict: I can't wait to come back and try more. The bagels are huge — just as reader John D. promised in his original recommendation — and the ingredients are quality.
State of play: The menu has all the basics, including omelets, pancakes and hash browns, and some intriguing specialty sandwich combinations.
