Late fees, penalties and other costs will be waived for certain cases at Detroit's 36th District Court starting next week.
Why it matters: The amnesty program — from March 9 through April 2 — is a rare chance to settle up with the court at a discount.
State of play: All late fees, penalties, and warrant costs will be fully waived when original fines and costs owed are paid.
Flashback: The court offered similar debt relief in 2024.
"Our goal is to remove financial barriers and help members of our community move forward," Chief Judge William C. McConico said in a statement.
