"South West High," a new series starring and co-created by Detroit's Jalen Rose, debuts Monday on Tubi.
Why it matters: The five-episode series airing weekly is the first original project from Same Page Entertainment, the production company founded by Rose and Pistons owner Tom Gores.
State of play: Rose stars as Nolan Thomas, a former pro basketball player who returns as principal to his alma mater, a struggling high school in Detroit.
"This series is fiction, but the spirit behind it is very real," Rose said in a news release.
