Formerly incarcerated artists can apply for paid residency

Zoom in: Michigan-based artists who work in any medium and have been previously incarcerated can apply. Their project proposal should answer the question: "What does a world without police and incarceration look like?"

• Applications are open until Feb. 15.

What's next: The chosen resident will get $20,000 and present their project to the public by the end of March 2027.

• Applications for a second residency open to all artists will open in July.
