Park Rite acquired by national parking firm

A national parking company this week acquired Detroit-based Park Rite, a family-owned parking operator with more than 40 lots and 14 garages across Metro Detroit.

Between the lines: Price increases are not immediately planned at Park Rite's lots — many of which serve Greektown, Corktown and other parts of downtown, the Free Press reported.

Driving the news: Parking Management Company, headquartered in Nashville, will assume ownership and management of Park Rite's portfolio, which also includes facilities in Ann Arbor, Royal Oak and Birmingham.

Park Rite's local team will continue running day-to-day operations across Detroit.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed, per the Freep.

Flashback: Park Rite started in 1975 with a single location downtown at West Lafayette Boulevard and 1st Street.

What they're saying: "Joining with PMC gives our team the support to keep growing while maintaining the personal touch and community focus our clients have relied on for decades," Park Rite owner Nick Aubrey said in a statement.
