White House Christmas tree hails from Michigan

This year's official White House Christmas tree hails from the Great Lakes State.

Decorating the news: The 18-foot concolor fir arrived last week from Korson's Tree Farms in Sidney Township, about 50 miles northwest of Lansing.

Zoom in: The tree is on display in the Blue Room, a first-floor oval reception space.

• It features ornaments recognizing all 50 states and territories, plus gold stars honoring families of those who died in military service.
