Layla Bugarin, 12, sells creatively flavored Rice Krispie treats at the Midwest Buddhist Meditation Center's Sunday market in Warren.
The big picture: This is Layla's second season as a young entrepreneur at the Thai Buddhist temple's long-running market.
- Vendors under tents offer produce, drinks, Thai and other Southeast Asian food, and snacks like fried bananas, skewers, mango sticky rice and chive pancakes.
Zoom in: Layla's Instagram previews pop-up locations and rotating flavors including Matcha My Vibes and Ube Cookies & Dreams.
- "I'm in charge!" her Instagram bio proclaims. "From recipes ➡️ production ➡️ marketing ➡️ sales, & everything else in between."
- The Sterling Heights resident also makes both sweet cinnamon and umami savory Chex snack mixes.
If you go: The market runs every other Sunday through summer, 9:30am-2pm.
