Brand collab: City Council President Mary Sheffield has announced a limited-edition merch collection with apparel brand Detroit Vs. Everybody.
- The brand's founder, Tommey Walker Jr., is a stated supporter of her mayoral campaign.
- Walker said in a press release that "Detroit Vs. Everybody is proud to stand alongside her as she breaks barriers and inspires a new generation of leadership."

Platform on poverty: Soon after a Detroit News report on the city's rising poverty rate, mayoral candidate the Rev. Solomon Kinloch Jr. announced a strategy to reduce poverty and extend the city's revitalization to more Detroiters.
- "Numbers don't lie. For too long, the president of the City Council has claimed a comeback, while working families were forgotten," Kinloch said in a statement.
- The Kinloch Promise Plan would create a Department of Opportunity and Empowerment; launch a children's trust fund; and build, rehab and restore 10,000 homes with more protections against scams and overtaxing.
- Look for more from Axios Detroit on income and poverty soon.
Debates will happen: Kinloch expects one or two public debates between him and Sheffield to occur before the November election, he said in a virtual press event Friday.
- Details are TBD.
All in the past: While Sheffield and former nonprofit CEO and ex-mayoral candidate Saunteel Jenkins traded barbs during the primary, Jenkins last week endorsed Sheffield.
- "A lot of things were said in our primary with nine candidates … Today, we have two candidates, and I'm standing next to the candidate that I believe is best suited to be the next mayor," Jenkins said, per the Free Press.
Upcoming: Both candidates have more town halls coming up to educate voters about their platforms.
- Kinloch's next two community conversations are 6pm Thursday at Eastlake Baptist Church, followed by noon Saturday at Anderson Memorial Cogic.
- Sheffield's next two are 6pm Wednesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Academy and 7pm Oct. 2 at Word In Action Christian Center International.
