🗜️ The Detroit Month of Design is in full swing. This weekend's happenings include an exhibition telling the story of Detroit's UNESCO city of design designation, live metalworking demonstrations and playtesting a new tabletop game.

🛻 Like trucks from a bygone era? Hit the mother lode at Greenfield Village with the Old Car Festival featuring vehicles from the 1890s to 1930s and their owners.

• Saturday and Sunday; free with $39 admission to the village.

🕯️ Decorate and launch a lantern during the Water Lantern Festival at Maheras-Gentry Park on Detroit's east side. The organizers tell Axios they'll set up a buoy line in the water to retrieve the lanterns — made from rice paper and wood — so they don't pollute waterways.
