Smashburgers shine at Moma G's

• The menu has traditional diner fare, from chili fries to a Greek salad.

What to try: I had to see if Moma G's Smash Burger ($10.50) lives up to the hype.

• It was made to order, with two patties, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and Moma G's sauce, which is similar to Thousand Island dressing.

The verdict: I wanted to wait until I got home to eat, but couldn't resist eating in my car after peeking inside the wrapping. The patties had crispy edges, and the classic toppings didn't get in the way. It was excellent.

• They were generous with the sauce, so order it on the side if you prefer more control.
