Metro Detroit has a creative and diverse food scene, but it can be hard to keep track of it all.
Zoom in: Social media content creators do hard work promoting the best new local restaurants, cafes and dessert trends.
Here are a couple of our favorite folks documenting the region's flavors and vibes:
Detroit Dar: An Instagram reel starting with "What's up my Detroit fam" is a clue there's deliciousness in store.
- Detroit Dar highlights enticing smashburgers, loaded fries and desserts from spots you may not know, but immediately need to try.
- "The idea to do food videos stemmed from seeing people like [Chow Down Detroit], but I wanted to do it in my own way and really highlight the great restaurants in the city of Detroit specifically," Dar recently told fellow local content creator, Ryan Redoute.
Chow Down Detroit: Well-known, longtime food critic Seoung Lee started this in 2013, according to Hour Detroit.
- He tries all kinds of dishes and helps restaurants with marketing.
- Lee recently launched a "restaurant rescue" series featuring places in financial trouble. He promotes them while giving honest takes on their food.
Pattalina Eats: Pattalina caught our eye for spotlighting local versions of viral desserts and trying JP Makes and Bakes' Pride Month cookies.
- Her style is straightforward, and she's always finding unique drinks and snacks to check out — like dirty soda, matcha cloud drinks and fruit ice cream.
