Detroit City FC introduced its new stadium, which will be called AlumniFi Field, to hundreds of supporters who gathered last night in Southwest Detroit.
Why it matters: The club has outgrown Keyworth Stadium, the 7,000-seat venue in Hamtramck where it's played since 2016.
State of play: AlumniFi Field will be a soccer-specific stadium built at the corner of Michigan Avenue and 20th Street in time for the 2027 season, the team announced.
What's next: The $150 million project remains subject to city approvals, including the Community Benefits Ordinance, which requires developers of large projects to engage with residents.
