Detroit's 2025 fireworks show to light up sky

If you're a fireworks type of person, Monday night is your night.

State of play: The Ford Fireworks over the Detroit River begin at 10pm. This year's cheery theme is "Detroit summer vibes! Bring 'em on!"

Friction point: Nearly all riverfront parks will be closed for the fireworks for safety reasons, according to the Freep. Some residents expressed frustration last year that they couldn't watch from those public spaces.
