Dearborn desserts: Waffle to end all waffles

👋 Annalise here, with the first installment of a series celebrating Dearborn's deep and diverse dessert scene.

• Those on TikTok or Instagram have likely seen mouth-watering reviews or promotions of sweets purveyors, from Yemeni pastries to colorful ice cream concoctions and viral Turkish desserts.

Now, onto bubble waffles.

Dig in: I've had my eye for a while on Sweet Stacks — there's another location in Garden City — for their mini pancakes and bubble waffles, served with toppings in more than a dozen flavor combinations.

• I had the Ashta Pistachio bubble waffle, with ashta ice cream and pistachio cream sauce ($10), and ascended to another plane of existence.
• There's nothing like the mixing of warm dough and cold cream to soothe the spirit.
