Jimmy John's announcement that it's selling sandwiches held together with pickle halves instead of bread has resulted in a flood of support for Detroit's pickle-wich shop, BridgeDetroit reports.
Why it matters: What's the Dill opened last year in the University District, offering a variety of deli sandwiches made with dill pickles as a low-carb bread alternative.

The intrigue: Milton told the publication that the new pickle-wich competitor merely inspired her to "go harder." In that vein, she released a new product on Friday — one Axios Detroit immediately knew we had to try: the Chilly Dilly Dog.
- It's a coney dog on a pickle, on offer through mid-November.
💠Annalise's thought bubble: I tried the regular What's the Dill pickle sandwich with turkey and veggies ($11.50), and the Chilly Dilly Dog ($8.99).
- The chili cheese hot dog on a pickle was messy and logistically taxing to eat, as toppings toppled over the sides and juice flowed into the container.
- But honestly, it was delicious. The hot dog's flavor paired even better with the pickle than the turkey's.
- I was told that if the Chilly Dilly Dog sells enough, it'll become a full-time menu item.
