1 fun thing to go: Playhouse history goes digital

The Des Moines Playhouse this month unveiled a new online archive that began as a 100th anniversary project in 2019.

Zoom in: The archive covers 1,022 productions, 8,075 actors and nearly 115,000 volunteer entries.

• Nearly three dozen volunteers entered names from playbills into spreadsheets for the searchable database.

Fun fact: "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" is the Playhouse's most-produced show, with 21 stagings.
