Zoom in: The restaurant plans on opening next summer, per an email from a Kura Sushi spokesperson.

How it works: A long conveyor belt winds throughout the restaurant, carrying small plates of food and passing by each table.

• Diners open clear plastic pods as they pass by to pluck out dishes with, usually, two or three pieces of nigiri or rolled sushi.
• Empty plates are discarded through a slot at each table, counting the number of dishes for your final bill.
• You can also order a specific item from a tablet.

Fun fact: After you reach a certain number of plates, you get a little prize!
