South Union Bread Cafe is temporarily closed to make way for renovations.
Driving the news: Several walls are being torn down at the popular lunch spot, says Paul Rottenberg, president of Orchestrate Hospitality, which owns South Union.
- In recent years, the shop has become popular for private events in the evenings. The goal is to open up the space and create one big, upscale room, Rottenberg tells Axios.
- New finishes, lighting and ordering counter setup are also being added.
Plus: Grab-and-go items will replace the salad bar.
