New bagel shop, brunch spots and more new restaurants planned across Des Moines

• The restaurant is known for its eclectic menu like PB&J pancakes and churro waffles. There are also existing locations in Ankeny and West Des Moines.

🥯 Five Borough Bagels is opening at the former standalone Starbucks near the elevator at Jordan Creek later this year.

• The popular bagel shop has rapidly expanded recently, including a new location that opened this month in Waukee.
• Plus: There is still a Starbucks inside the Barnes & Noble at the mall.

☕️ Wake Up Iowa Coffee is opening Nov. 2 in the city's northside near Beaverdale.

• After operating a roastery out of Iowa City since 2011, the owners are opening an espresso bar in Des Moines, where you can also buy bags of their single-origin coffee.

🍞 It's My Jam Cafe in Ankeny is the latest breakfast spot to open in the northern suburb at the former Sorriso Grille location.

• The restaurant is planning on opening "soonish" by the owners behind Smokey D's BBQ. Expect classics like omelets, loaded hash browns and eggs Benedict.
