Yesterday's storms ripped throughDes Moines, including Glendale Cemetery off University Ave., leaving a wake of debris and battered structural elements.
Driving the news: Local photographer Colby Campbell captured images of the damage and shared them on social media.
"It seems very few trees in the Windsor Heights/Waveland neighborhoods escaped with all their limbs. It was hard to see tree damage from the air, but from the street it was clear how intense the winds were," he wrote.
The big picture: The widespread damage left thousands without power across Des Moines, though no injuries were reported as of Monday evening.
The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down and then moved east, according to AP.
