Mediacom is consolidating several of its internet plans, resulting in price increases for some homes starting May 15.

Zoom in: The company is getting rid of its 100 and 300 Mbps plans and changing them to higher speeds — 250 and 500 Mbps. If customers are paying the current retail price, their bills may go up $5 to $10 monthly.

  • Mediacom is also consolidating its 1 Gig data plans, which used to have several data allowance tiers, to just one plan with unlimited data. Customers on those plans could experience price increases between $5 and $15 monthly.

Be smart: Plans and prices can change every year, but customers can typically get a "loyalty discount" if they call customer service, Kate Hotle, Mediacom's public relations director, tells Axios.
