What to do in Des Moines this weekend: Easter brunch, Maple Syrup Day and more

Here's what's going on in Des Moines this Easter weekend.

Friday

🎭 Drake Theatre Arts presents the musical "42nd Street" this weekend. 7:30 tonight and Saturday, and 2pm Sunday. Tickets: $8-$10.

🪐 Science Center of Iowa hosts "Planetary Prom" for adults. 6-9pm. Tickets: $20.

Saturday

🕉 Celebrate Holi at the Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of Iowa near Madrid. There will be a fire, color throwing, dancing and food starting at 11am.

🍁 Chow down at "Maple Syrup Day" at the Iowa Arboretum. Learn how to tap trees and enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes. 8-11am. Tickets: $9 for adults.

🌾 Living History Farms is hosting Easter with an old-timey flair. Hop on a horse-drawn wagon and visit with some farm animals. 9am to noon. Tickets: $9.

Sunday

🏳️‍⚧️ Celebrate Trans Day of Visibility through performances at xBk Live. Starts at 6pm. Tickets: $13.17.

🪺 Rollins Mansion is hosting an Easter brunch. $40 per adult and there are timed Easter Egg hunts for kids. 11am-1pm.
