Iowa commission selling its civil rights display replicas

• The Iowa State Historical Society declined to accept them because they are not originals and did not fit with their collection needs, commission director Kristen Stiffler tells Axios.

Of note: The commission couldn't donate the displays to something like a nonprofit historical society because Iowa policies require state property be sold via GovDeals, Stiffler says.

What's next: Bidding ends today at 3:26pm.

• The top bid was $31 as of this morning.
