A techie new taproom with an evolving selection of 60 Iowa-focused craft beers opens Sept. 3 in downtown Des Moines.
Details: Craft Bru uses a mobile app (PourChoices) that allows users to explore its menu and place contactless orders.
- A flavor profile system allows you to rank each brew and receive suggestions for future drinks. (Think Spotify but for craft beer.)
- The menu will change daily and focus largely on seasonal and new or experimental beers.
What they're doing: The new biz is the creation of software developers Dennis Dix and Tracey Schlueter.
- They're trying to make the expanding diversity of craft beer user friendly and accessible.
- The software will be marketed to breweries across the world, they told Jason yesterday.
Visit: 210 SW 11th St.
- CraftBru is located at LINC at Gray's Station, a burgeoning new downtown neighborhood near a planned $60M professional soccer stadium that could break ground next year.
- Hours: Sunday-Thursday: 11am-10pm; Friday-Saturday: 11am-11pm.
