You may think you've tried every kind of pizza, but Des Moines Pizza Company (aka "Demo") wants to beat your expectations.
- The new downtown spot opens Monday at the former location of Mama Mia Pizza.
What's happening: It's Brooklyn-fusion pizza, which co-owner Shawn Brighton said means it's got a New York-style crust that's thin with a crispy bottom, while also having a little bit of chew.
- The majority of ingredients are fresh β not frozen β meaning lots of TLC.
What to expect: There's something for everyone. Pizza slices for downtown office workers. Whole pies ready in 10 minutes for dinner. Late-night grub after the bars.
- Menu highlights include a Big Mac pizza, an elote (Mexican street corn) pizza and "King Porker" β a barbecue pizza topped with Granny Smith apple coleslaw.
- The shop will offer takeout for the first month and later delivery through apps.
π Visit: 604 Locust Street, DSM
Open: 10:30am-2pm and 4-10pm Mon-Thurs; 10:30am-2pm and 4pm to midnight Fri-Sun
