The Colorado Rockies just matched a 61-year-old record nobody wanted.

State of play: The Rockies notched their 100th loss this week, clinching the club's fourth consecutive century-losing campaign, despite an encouraging start to the season.

The Rockies suffered their triple-digit loss in a 7–2 thrashing by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

The intrigue: The Rockies are the first team since the 1965 New York Mets to lose 100+ games in four consecutive seasons.

But four years later, the Mets won their first World Series.
