James Beard Award and "Top Chef" finalist Carrie Baird is making a LoHi comeback.
Dig in: Baird returned this month overseeing Italian restaurant Bar Dough full-time, with plans to infuse more Colorado ingredients into the menu, including produce from the eatery's on-site garden.
- She's debuting three dishes: zucchini fritters, panzanella with heirloom tomatoes, and fettuccine with Olathe corn and Jimmy Nardello peppers.
Best bites: Don't skip the delectable fancy toast or juicy pollo al limone.
Zoom out: Baird's return comes amid a flurry of fresh restaurant openings around town. Here are four more spots to try this fall:
- Blossom by SYC, which serves modern Chinese dishes including wagyu fried rice and miso black cod, is taking dinner reservations during its soft opening in LoHi.
- Soda Club, an NYC-based pasta and natural wine restaurant, opened its first Colorado location at The Ramble Hotel in RiNo with an entirely vegan menu.
- Western Daughters Wine Bar opened next door to its namesake LoHi butcher shop this summer, pairing natural wines with meaty plates.
- Rōmyō, the latest concept from chef Frank Bonanno, offers a curious culinary blend of Italian and Japanese cuisine, including porchetta ramen and a Parma prosciutto roll.
