Editor's note: This story contains spoilers from the series finale.
Five Denver couples found love. Three ended their engagements before a wedding. And two made it to the altar only to turn back around.
Why it matters: For the first time in the nine-season history of "Love Is Blind," none of the couples said, "I do."
- In fact, fewer couples made it to the altar compared to previous seasons.
State of play: The dating show's finale aired Wednesday and reinforced Denver's reputation as a horrible dating scene.
- Instead of the city's "Men-ver" streak, the finale featured three women who said "no."
The big picture: Five couples emerged from the pods engaged and returned to Denver for their weddings at the Sanctuary Golf Course in Douglas County, complete with its picturesque mountain backdrop.
Flashback: Three couples — Patrick and Kacie; Joe and Madison; and Nick and Annie — were doomed from the start and never made it to the finale.
Zoom in: Fans wanted Jordan and Megan to work, but before their wedding day, she told him they were not compatible, in part because he has a young son.
- "Initially, I leaned into opposites attract, but I just still have reservations. It's not how I should be feeling going into our wedding," she told him, adding: "I can't do this, Jordan."
- He blamed it on the fact that she's wealthy and he is not.
Anton and Ali walked to the altar. He said yes, she said no.
- "I can't be your wife," she explained. "I feel like the person I fell in love with in the pods isn't the person I've gotten to experience in real life. I'm so sorry."
Edmond and Kalybriah looked like the best chance for a happily ever after. They professed their love multiple times at the altar, but he said yes and she said no.
- "You deserve someone that is 100% at the altar," she told him through tears.
What's next: The cast reunion, which airs Oct. 29, will reveal more about the behind-the-scenes drama, and maybe explain why the Denver season is the most loveless one yet.
