Boulder is emerging as a new top destination for tech talent.

Why it matters: In an era of slow migration post-pandemic, the city stands apart, according to new research from Placer.ai, a mobility tracking company.

Driving the news: Boulder continues to attract new residents because of its flourishing tech scene with startups and hubs from major companies like Google, Apple and Amazon.

The Colorado lifestyle and university are two other main drivers, the report notes.

The intrigue: Transplants are mainly coming from Chicago, Dallas and New York, as well as California's tech regions.

The big picture: Other areas seeing strong net migration include other smaller towns in Florida, as well as Provo, Utah, and Boise City, Idaho.
