Columbus gas prices are climbing again

After a little relief the last couple months, Columbus gas prices are trending in the wrong direction again as international conflict continues.
By the numbers: A gallon of gas is currently averaging around $4.24.
- That's up 38 cents from July and 17 cents higher than the national average.
- This time last year, a gallon cost about $3.15.
Follow the money: That $1.09 difference adds up.
- It means filling up a 15-gallon tank — around an average-sized car — would cost an extra $16.35 each trip.
What we're watching: Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy's head of petroleum analysis, says it's possible national prices could reach their highest point this calendar year by the end of the week.
