Weekend picks: "Party with a Purpose" at ComFest

Catch up quick: Short for "community festival," the 54-year-old celebration is among Columbus' biggest and longest-running, but also its hardest to define.

• Billed as a "party with a purpose," it's free to attend and free of corporate sponsorships.
• Like any summer festival, expect lots of live music, food trucks and vendors, but you'll also find yoga, drum circles and people in full body paint.

Between the lines: Given the festival's '70s anti-Vietnam War roots, there are also opportunities for "progressive political activism."
