Columbus weekend picks: An eventful time of year

If you're bored this weekend, you'll never be entertained — It's one of the busiest times of the year.

The intrigue: One of the country's biggest aviation events, the three-day air show expects to draw more than 50,000 attendees.

The America 250-themed edition will feature a new "twilight pyrotechnics and fireworks show" as a Friday and Saturday finale.

What to expect: More than a dozen performances from all kinds of flying machines, from historical planes to high-tech helicopters and everything in between.

Plus: A wide variety of planes on the ground, ideal for photo ops and curious youngsters.

$65 general admission for people 16 and older, kids free.

What else is happening:

🏳️‍🌈 Stonewall Columbus Pride takes over downtown, with a Goodale Park festival Friday and Saturday, parade Saturday morning and Pride-related events at various establishments.

🎊 The Juneteenth Ohio Festival celebrates emancipation Friday and Saturday in Genoa Park.

🎷 Gahanna comes alive with the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival all weekend long.

🎲 The Origins Game Fair brings thousands of tabletop enthusiasts to the Convention Center all weekend.

🎨 The Worthington Arts Festival showcases local and regional art Saturday and Sunday.

🎶 Wyclef Jean joins Picnic With the Pops at the Columbus Commons Saturday night.
