A beloved Columbus bar and bodega is getting a new name for a new era.

Drinking the news: The Bottle Shop, a neighborhood fixture tucked between Harrison West and OSU campus, announced Tuesday it will become Cordial Cocktail Club & Bottle Shop.

What's inside: The Bottle Shop first opened in 2015 as a bodega-style carryout that's rare for Columbus.

Along the way, the shop leaned into cocktails, dimly lit vibes, an excellent patio and themes like the Christmastime "Ebenezer's."

What they're saying: The shop has become known for its cocktails rather than carryout, and in a release, owner Gregory Stokes says those "blurred lines" necessitate a new name.

"At some point, I looked around and realized The Bottle Shop wasn't really describing what we'd built. Cordial does. We're just embracing who we've become."

🍸 What's next: Cordial's new seasonal menu, "Summer in Mumbai," launches Tuesday with Indian-inspired drinks paying homage to bar manager Ari Stewart.
