👋 Alissa here. I conducted my own test of Burger King's latest innovation and unfortunately walked away a little confused.
Zoom in: The King Size Sliders stand just fine on their own. If you've ever had a Burger King burger, you know what to expect.
There are three topping options: a traditional deluxe and a bacon cheeseburger, both topped with tangy aioli, and the most-adventurous steakhouse bacon with peppercorn aioli and onion straws.
The tangy aioli is a welcome addition and they're decently sized.
Yes, but: When compared to other menu items, the math isn't mathing.
It's $18 for a box of six sliders, but it's also $18 for six full-size bacon cheeseburgers.
What they're saying: One goal of the local test is helping the company evaluate guest response "around taste, value perception and the appeal of a more customizable, shareable format," per its statement.
The bottom line: Ultimately, it's up to you to decide if the toppings and flexibility to "have it your way" are worth the price.
Dig in: Today is the last day to try them at select locations (I visited 817 W. Fifth Ave.).
