Rev1 Ventures, Central Ohio's largest state-funded entrepreneurial organization, has moved its headquarters to Franklinton as part of new-look expansion plans.
Why it matters: Rev1 is one of Ohio's most prominent venture development studios and the state's top seed-stage investor. Its portfolio companies generate billions in value.

Driving the news: The organization officially unveils its new home at a ribbon-cutting next week, and Axios got a sneak peek of the new space, Rev1 at The Peninsula.
- It's part of a wave of development at the COSI-adjacent Peninsula that includes The Junto, pickleball courts and multiple offices.
What's inside: The 2-story space is a collaborative hub for all things entrepreneurship, focusing on shared areas and gathering spaces more than traditional offices and meeting rooms.
- The first floor is geared toward earlier stage entrepreneurs, with a lounge, day passes and small team memberships, plus events and conference spaces.
- On the second floor, six substantial suites (two already spoken for) can become permanent homes for later-stage companies.

What they're saying: Between pandemic-related attitude shifts and the changing face of entrepreneurship, Rev1 needed a space people would actually want to spend time in, president and COO Kristy Campbell tells Axios.
Yes, but: The space isn't meant as just a coworking office — it's creating a place for founders and innovators to gather at any stage of their entrepreneurial journey.
- "That's what's different from another co-working space," Campbell says. "Those have their place, but you're not sitting next to random people here. … Everybody here is going to be focused on venture-backed companies."
🔬 What's next: Rev1 is also part of Ohio State's upcoming Carmenton innovation district.
- In the coming years, it's planning a "modern startup wet lab" space there — a dedicated facility for the important and emerging field of biotech research.
