Ohio State star receiver Jeremiah Smith isn't just one of college football's best players — he's a pretty decent Buckeye historian.
Driving the news: Smith named his Mount Rushmore of OSU football greats on social media this week.
His selections: Archie Griffin, Eddie George, Troy Smith and Orlando Pace.
💭 Andrew's thought bubble: As a fan myself, I'd love to provide a hot take here. But … I think Smith nailed it.
Griffin and George are shoo-ins. Pace is one of the most dominant college football players ever. Smith holds a special place in the heart of anyone who watched the Buckeyes in the 2000s.
The other contenders: It's fair to note that Heisman winners Vic Janowicz (1950) and Howard "Hopalong" Cassidy (1955) deserve to be in this conversation — but it's hard to judge performances from 75 years ago.
Legends J.T. Barrett, Cris Carter, Ezekiel Elliott, Randy Gradishar and Chris Spielman should also be mentioned.
