Ohio investment fund invests in startup building electric buses

Driving the news: The O.H.I.O. Fund — along with Magnetar, Pulse Fund and others — has announced it will be investing in Ottawa's Endera.

Catch up quick: Mark Kvamme, who also co-founded Drive Capital, co-founded The O.H.I.O. Fund, which launched last year and closed its first $230 million fund this summer.

• The organization's mantra is "bullish on Ohio," and it focuses on investing in Ohio companies in manufacturing, biotech, real estate and infrastructure.

What they're saying: Endera CEO John Walsh said in a release the investment will allow the company to speed up production and "expand our Ohio footprint."

• "Ohio has long been at the heart of America's automotive innovation, and Endera is proud to be building the next chapter here. Our work electrifying bus fleets not only helps communities reduce emissions and operating costs, but also strengthens local manufacturing and jobs."

Plus: Solon-based Eagle Electronics, which The O.H.I.O. Fund created and led a $14 million funding round for last year, announced Wednesday it had acquired German company Wireless Mobility.

• That combined organization now rebrands as Eagle Wireless, with plans for continued international expansion.
