JT's Pizza brings back The Gobbler for Thanksgiving

• Rather than pizza sauce, the base is garlic mashed potatoes with gravy.
• That's topped with smoked turkey, stuffing, a mix of cheddar and pizza cheese and a cranberry drizzle.

First impression: It's impossible to overstate how good my car smelled as I drove my Gobbler home.

Dig in: Biting into this was an odd experience — it looks like a pizza, but it is not a pizza.

• My brain was slightly broken by the textural experience of biting into dough covered in mashed potatoes and stuffing.
• I gravitated toward the much-needed crunch of the crust.

The bottom line: I respected the effort more than I enjoyed it.

• Ultimately, it's challenging to overcome just how not a pizza this is.
