More anti-Trump protests planned in Columbus

Another grassroots action against the Trump administration is planned nationwide Saturday, including at the Ohio Statehouse.

Why it matters: The 50501 Movement is taking momentum from recent protests to encourage Americans to become each other's "social support web" as President Trump's policies target marginalized communities.

The big picture: The name means "50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement" and it's pushing back against what it calls "executive overreach." Organizing started on Reddit.

More than 400 events are scheduled Saturday, including rallies, protests, nature cleanups and food drives.
"We need to think about the America we want to see, where we have empathy and help each other, and just become that," organizers wrote.

Zoom in: Over 40,000 Ohioans participated during the first weekend of April.

Other local events are planned this weekend in Westerville, Reynoldsburg, Circleville, Marysville and Delaware.
