Fall means falling leaves, so should you leave your leaves or follow a different lead?
The Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District has suggestions on how to handle your lawns this season:
- Let 'em lay: Don't feel lazy. Leaves and clippings are high in nutrients, which return to your lawn's soil. Just keep them out of storm drains to prevent clogging.
- Gather 'em: Your community likely has a collection schedule. Check out the local guidelines for how to prep leaves for pick-up.
- Composting: A good option for reducing waste. There are a number of drop-off sites for Franklin County residents.
