Let's be honest: We don't need an excuse to enjoy a nice burger and a cold one.

  • Burger & Beer Week, which kicks off today and benefits a local charity, at least gives us another one.

What's happening: Over 50 restaurant locations are participating this year, per the organizers at 614 Media Group.

  • Proceeds will benefit Star House, a local drop-in shelter for young people experiencing homelessness.

Between the buns: The list includes many gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options.

Our thought bubble: We would probably taste every one of those burgers, if we could.

  • Alissa is going to try the "Main and Third" burger at Pecan Penny's, which comes topped with onion rings and a fried egg.
  • Tyler saw aioli on the menu for The Keep Kitchen & Liquor Bar's house burger and that's all he needs to know. (Hold those pickles, though.)
