When Cleveland needed a hero, the 1995 Indians delivered

The Browns were in turmoil, and the Cavs could barely make it out of the first round of the playoffs — Thank heaven for Cleveland's baseball team of the 1990s.

Flashback: The Indians put together some of the most exciting seasons in franchise history, led by players whose names still ring out in local folklore.

If there was one team that bested them all, it was the 1995 squad playing just its second year at Jacobs Field.

By the numbers: The amazing roster featured six All-Stars, including Carlos Baerga, Albert Belle, Kenny Lofton, Manny Ramírez, Dennis Martínez and José Mesa.

Cleveland secured the franchise's second 100-win season and made the postseason for the first time in 41 years.

The big letdown: It was a magical season with a loss in the World Series to a historic Atlanta Braves squad.
