The countdown to summer's end begins this Labor Day weekend.
Why it matters: The clock is ticking on chances to enjoy good, outdoor weather in Northeast Ohio before fall and (gasp) winter hits.
Here are several fun outdoor activities that will have you feeling like it's summer all the way through the end of September:
🎸 Catch a show at Blossom
Blossom Music Center will host seven more rock shows before its season concludes with Tyler Childers on Oct. 7.
- The venue will also host two additional Cleveland Orchestra events, including "The Lion King" in concert and a classical Dolly Parton tribute.
🎢 Ride some coasters
Cedar Point moves to "weekends only" (Thursday through Sunday) after Labor Day.
- The amusement park's HalloWeekends run Sept. 11 through Nov. 2.
🏝️ Party on the bay
The tourist attraction on South Bass Island doesn't completely shut down after summer, but things will slow down after Labor Day Weekend.
✈️ Watch jets fly
The annual Cleveland National Air Show runs Saturday through Sunday this weekend at Burke Lakefront Airport.
- Tickets are $20 for kids ages 6-11 and $40 for adults. Kids under 6 are free.
🏮 Marvel at the lights
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has extended its Asian Lantern Festival through Sept. 13.
- Guests can also pay $17 to ride their bikes through the festival after hours on Sept. 14.
🤘 Rock at the Rock Hall
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame closes out its outdoor summer concert series with St. Vincent on the museum's front plaza at 7pm Friday.
- A few tickets are available on secondary markets starting at around $70.
⚾ Go Guards!
It's not looking like the Guardians will make the playoffs, which means there are just a few series left at Progressive Field.
- Cleveland's regular season concludes at home against the Texas Rangers on Sept. 28.
🪗 Jam at Cain Park
Cain Park's Evans Amphitheater wraps up a huge summer of hosting national acts with Béla Fleck on Sept. 25.
- Tickets start at $34.50.
🪩 Fist pump at FWD
FWD Day + Nightclub hosts its final full weekend of pool fun and DJs this week.
- The venue has added a bonus "Love Island" party on Sept. 20, featuring cast member Bryan Arenales.
📽️ Watch movies outdoors
There are two more chances to enjoy Social Cinema, the 21+ outdoor movies series on the lawn at Great Lakes Science Center.
- "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" screens on Sept. 18 and "Scream" on Oct. 3.
